At the start of the show, AJ comes out in a white suit and welcomes us to the show. She says that she is out here to announce some blockbuster matches tonight. First, Big Show vs. Randy Orton. Second, for the first time ever, Daniel Bryan vs. John Cena. Before AJ can finish, CM Punk interrupts her. He gets in the ring and apologizes to AJ for blowing up on her last week. AJ accepts his apology and Punk tells her that as GM, he knows that she will make some major mistakes from time to time. Just like last week, when she put him in a triple threat match at SummerSlam, where he doesn’t even have to be pinned to lose the title. He tells her that she should just cancel the match, but she objects and says that she will make mistakes, but the triple threat match is not one of them… and the match IS going to happen. Punk asks her if she is gonna be the “evil” GM, is she going to being the one to screw over the guy that everyone likes (the crowd responds with a whole lot of boos, they obviously don’t agree)? He tells her that she should cancel the match and find him a new opponent.
John Cena comes out and tells Punk that he has become of “them guys.” The guy that comes out and demands respect, but does absolutely nothing to earn it. Cena says that even he, who has a ton of title reigns under his belt, still has to fight for respect every week. Cena talks about last week and how Punk screwed him. He stops to tell AJ that she smells great and introduces himself. Punk says that he didn’t stick his nose is Cena’s match, Cena is the one who stuck his nose in his business. CM Punk says he won’t be disrespected by anyone and that he saved Cena and his career last week. Cena says that everyone knows that the champion doesn’t do well in triple threat matches and that Punk could lost the title at SummerSlam. Big Show’s music hits the arena, but before all hell breaks loose… AJ tells everyone to stop it. She says she’s not letting things getting out of hand on HER show. She tells Cena and Big Show that they should save their energy for their matches tonight. CM Punk says that he should have a match tonight, he deserves to be in the main event. AJ says that Punk does have a match tonight, but it’s not up to her who his opponent is. It’s up to the WWE Universe. They will vote on Twitter to decide who he will face. The choices are: The Miz, Kane, or Rey Mysterio. AJ says that voting starts… right now, because the match is next. AJ skips to the back, leaving Punk in the ring awaiting his coming match as we head to commercial.
AJ is in her office when Alberto Del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez walk in and tell her she is so much better than SmackDown! GM, Booker T. Alberto says something about not competing until SummerSlam and AJ tells him that she doesn’t have him scheduled for anything, to which he breathes a sigh of relief. He tells Ricardo that he knew she wouldn’t do anything “crazy.” AJ asks what he just called her, but of course he doesn’t know what to say. She tells him that he is in a match… and it’s next.
AJ is seen backstage in her office with Daniel Bryan. She tells him that he may not be insane, but he definitely has some anger management issues. He tells her that he probably does, but only because of her leaving him at the alter. He tells her that he agrees with her decision to put him in the main event tonight with John Cena. He says something about wanting to have a match at SummerSlam, but AJ informs him that he already has a match at SummerSlam, against Kane. They get into a “YES!” and “NO!” battle, in which AJ trumps Daniel.
